If I were to grade the United States' national government just by watching how we are dealing with the ever growing threat of ISIS, I would give it an F. Our government leaders are too occupied with re-elections, or maybe just worried that dealing with the problem would be political suicide. When did American leadership become so timid? Why are citizens of this great nation electing and re-electing spineless and immoral people to represent us? We are ultimately to blame for this, because we keep making the same mistakes and we never learn from it. You pretty much have to kill a baby or get involved in some sleazy sex scandal to be removed from office. We used to be a country that stood up for what is right and fought against the wrongs in this world. When did standing up for what is right become a political disaster?
We have an ever growing problem in Iraq and Syria. Jihadists in the murdering, raping, evil gang of savages, known as ISIS have been sweeping through Iraq and Syria, and our president turns a blind eye to it. They are murdering people every single day, and kidnapping young girls and women and selling them in the sex slave market. These horrific acts are going basically unchallenged because the United States refuses to send boots on the ground. The president made a promise that he would get all boots off the ground in Iraq and he definitely kept his word. It was the second worst decision after the invasion of Iraq was to pull our troops out of Iraq, the first is not doing anything about it after it is obviously out of control over there. Our soldiers and marines would have a huge impact on the genocide going on over there, and it would be an immediate impact. We would halter their advancement, and then we would be able to eliminate as many as possible, and send the rest feeling. We have the best military in the world, and they are combat experienced, it is time we use them again. Former Ambassador to the U.N. John Bolten, said wednesday, "the only thing that is going to stop this growth of terrorism--as states deteriorate all over the Middle East--Is an American involvement, with a coalition of others, who understand that the terrorist threat--the threat of extremist Islam, remains and is growing. And out policy the past several months has been passivity in the face of ISIS in Iraq and a whole series of other crises that we see developing to."
We need to get this right during this next election and start electing people in power that stand up for what is right, it doesn't matter if they are Democrat or Republican, just who is the best person for the job and the one that doesn't have any other agenda but what is good for humanity. Isn't that, after all, what is at stake?

Government Incompetence Dealing with Ebola
In the piece I read titled God Help Us, written by
Glenn Harlan Reynolds, he was talking about how instead of sending our troops to the ever growing threat of ISIS, we are sending them to West Africa to combat this deadly virus.
I would say that this is a scare piece for sure, but I agree completely with this article. Our troops are receiving 4 hours of training, and there roles that they will play there aren't entirely clear. Reynolds make strong arguments that our troops are more than likely going to be infected and will bring it back home to us. This is extremely frightening considering we don't know everything about this virus, and we are using experimental drugs, that we aren't sure will work, and I'm sure they aren't sure of what the side effects will be.
Reynolds starts the article off by pointing out that by sending ground troops to Iraq/Syria to deal with ISIS, we would make a huge impact on their caliphate. There is no doubt in my mind that there is where our troops should be, we should be fighting side by side with the Kurds, just like we did in Iraq. We need to deal with that virus head on.

Did Obama Know how big of a threat ISIS really was?
I read an article in the Dallas News by editorial writer Tod Robberson, headlined ISIS sweep into Iraq was no surprise to anyone paying attention. In the article Tod Robberson starts off by saying that president Obama would have you believe that his director of intelligence, James Clapper, had underestimated what was going on in Iraq and Syria.
Robberson states that the letter that Democratic and Republican senators sent to Obama on Oct. 29, 2013
which was sent 11 months ago warning the president that ISIS was taking over Syria and advancing in Iraq, went ignored.
If the president really didn't know about the growing threat, how did the Dallas morning news? Here are a few headlines Robberson linked to his article. Spike in sectarian violence hurts Iraq’s economy (July 29, 2013), Death toll from violence spikes7,818 civilians killed in 2013; number had fallen with U.S. troop surge (Jan. 2, 2014), Security forces battle to put down al-Qaeda uprisings in Sunni cities (Jan. 3, 2014), Syrian war echoing through region Iraq hit by al-Qaeda attacks; blast strikes Beirut (Jan. 3, 2014), just to give you a few. You can see that if the Dallas Morning News had this information, that clearly the president of the United States of America and his advisers knew the coming threat, yet did nothing about it. Obama even went on to call them the J.V. team of terrorism.
If I were grading this article by Tod Robberson, I would give him an A for sure. He backed up his opinions about the president knowing all along the huge threat ISIS poses while doing nothing about it. He is even handing out pink slips to our military as ISIS grows in numbers.
